We offer one on one instruction with those students who need it. We can help them in any ELA class, math, science or history. With that one on one instruction it is consistent. The students gravitate to the subject matter and are able to ask questions, give ideas, and have their input heard and respected. We value the students’ boundaries using this method we are able to encourage that student to participate in the class lesson. With this one on one guidance we are able to bond with that student. We can help them learn life skills.
Not only do we consider it important for them to achieve their goals in their academic classes, it is just as important that we encourage and engage them in obtaining life skills. We want our students eager to learn and prepared for what life has in store for them. One of the rewards of having one on one instruction is the bond that is formed. Having that student put their trust in us is truly a gift.
Being able to pray for them daily and in turn them praying for you or others opens so many hearts and minds to let our Lord in. That is the ultimate goal, to have the Lord guide us as we instruct the students every day. We want to be able to stand in that crowd on graduation day and cheer them on because we had a hand in their education. I am thankful our Lord led me to this position and has guided me daily in the choices I make and how I instruct these students.
2 Timothy 3:15 - “And that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.”
