Ms. Laveta Edwards
Laveta Edwards graduated high school in Desoto, right outside of Dallas, TX. She moved to Georgia in 1996, served in the US Navy, and obtained a degree in Administrative Office. Her career with the Georgia Department of Child Support Services moved her to Moultrie in 2009. For almost 5 years Ms. Laveta has held the position of Children’s Ministry Coordinator at Heritage Church where she inspires, equips, and pastors a team of over 50 people. She has completed training in the Phases of Growth & Development of Children from birth to age 18. She is also in the process of completing her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. Laveta has two daughters, Delaysha, who is a junior at Georgia Southern University, and Dejah, who has been homeschooled since 4th grade and is now a freshman in high school. Her hobbies include mentoring, and mission trips with her local church.
Mr. Seth Walters
Seth Walters received a B.S. in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Social Studies from Valdosta State University. Mr. Walters went on to obtain a Master of Arts in Religion from Liberty University and a Master of Public Administration from Columbus State University. Mr. Walters spent twelve years in various roles at Moultrie Police Department before leaving the department in 2014. Mr. Walters has been married to his wife, Heather, for the past thirteen years. They have three sons ranging in ages from five to eleven years old. Until 2015, they homeschooled their children employing the classical style of learning and have participated with their children in the Classical Conversations community. Mr. Walters is entering his fourth year of teaching at Colquitt Christian Academy.
Ms. King recently relocated back to Moultrie from Augusta, GA where she grew up after graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Languages with a P-12 teaching track from Augusta University in December 2018. Ms. King has been teaching Kindergarten and First grade students this year half day. She will be getting married in July 2019 and will begin her first full year here at CCA in August 2019. She is eager to be working at CCA with the younger children and watching them grow spiritually and educationally!
Mrs. Hembree was born in Panama City Beach, Florida, but have lived in South Georgia for fifty years. She and her husband, Jimmy, have been married for forty years. They have three grown sons who have blessed them with three daughters-in-law and five grandchildren. We are a farm family and grow cotton, peanuts, and beef cattle. Mrs. Hembree was a full time wife and mother until she continued her education when all of her boys started school. Mrs. Hembree holds an AA degree in Music and BS degree in Middle Grades Education.
Josh is a husband to Shelley and father to seven wonderful girls. Mr. Myrick came to CCA in October 2018 and currently teaches in the Upper School. He will serve as the Dean of Students for the 2019-2020 school year. He also serves as a teaching elder at Calvary Baptist Church, where he loves to disciple and equip the Body of Christ. Mr. Myrick also helps with some aspects of school administration and development of extra-curricular activities for the students.
Holly Ray was born and raised in Moultrie, Ga. where she still resides today. She has been married for 9 years to her husband, Chuck, and they have 2 children together, Leila and Perry. They are active members of Pine Grove Baptist Church, where Mrs. Ray is co-director of their Vacation Bible School and is also a leader at their summer day camp. She loves to travel and spend time with family.
Mrs. Ray received her B.S. in Elementary and Special Ed. at Grand Canyon University in 2018. She spent 4 years as a Paraprofessional before beginning her teaching career. Mrs. Ray will be teaching 4th and 5th grade in the 2019-2020 school year at CCA.
Eric is a husband, father of four, disciple and teacher who is learning to follow Jesus every day, everywhere. He graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Christian Ministries from Emmanuel College (Franklin Springs, GA 2001). Mr. Foster-Whiddon is currently completing a Masters of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and intends to continue his education and eventually teach as a professor at the undergrad or graduate level. Mr. Foster-Whiddon is passionate about biblical languages and outdoor adventures, particularly hiking on the Appalachian Trail. Mr. Foster-Whiddon also loves coffee and music. He and his wife, Vanessa, established and operated Beans & Strings, a coffee shop & music school in Moultrie. They sold the business after seven successful years when the LORD directed Eric back into academics.
